About Slave to Painting

Chief Slave | Slave To Painting Slave to Painting is now the exclusive distributor for The Army Painter products in New Zealand.  The Army Painter system offers a great range of high quality products to turn your grey plastics into great looking armies in no time.  We're talking a 1500 Point Army in 1 weekend!

As fellow hobbyists we know how daunting (and expensive) getting an army tabletop ready can be! So we went out in search of the best products available so your army can be "tabletop in no time".

In early 2012 we will also be starting to offer a great range of sculpts from Avatars of War.  These hero minis are great way of adding unique characters to your armies at a fraction of someone else’s costs (well since the embargo anyway!).

Founded in 2011, Slave to Painting is based in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Matt Walley - The Man Behind Slave to Painting

Matt Walley | Slave to PaintingMatt originally got into the miniature painting hobby back in his teenage years.  After a break for almost eight years while studying at university he got back into the hobby three years ago.  His main focus is on getting his armies to look great as quickly as possible, always trying to develop fast techniques to get great finishes.

So far he has painted Empire, Chaos, Beastmen, Skaven, Space Marines, Orks and a small Tau force.  Currently he is starting to work on 3500pts of High Elves and 2000pts of Dark Eldar as his 2012 projects.

Outside of his miniature painting Matt has a wife and 2 kids with a third on the way.  He has a PhD in Psychology and operates a portfolio of investments companies.  He also studies Brazilian Ju-jitsu, mixed martial arts and weaponry combat.
