The Terminators Cometh | Step by Step Demonstration

First of all, I’d like to start by saying that undercoating with gloss silver was a bad idea.  Yep.  I don’t intend to do that again.  It all started out pretty nicely with the way things were going and all, I must say it made a lot of things easier.  But the problems… man oh man it’s not worth it in the end!

This article is a step by step demonstration of how I painted my nasty Iron Warriors army that you may have seen on online forums such as Warseer, Work In Progress or Cool Mini or Not.  It started out with my “Ripley” pattern defiler which got some great reviews on the Cool Mini or Not website, and progressed from there into a fully blown army.  I’m very impressed with how it all came about and how it’s turning out.  And I’m sure you’ll enjoy having a peek into my step-by-step “lazy” painting method.

Orks Army Step by Step | Speed Painting Method

After spending a bit of time speed painting my orks, quite a few people have been asking me about the techniques I've been usind to speed paint my orks.  Over a period of about 4 weeks I've now painted 160 orks of various types, mainly base troops, but also commandos, meks, lootas and burnas all using the same method.  I worked out this method with two things in mind:1. Speed2. Decent looking models in minimal timeSome of the methods I use are monotonous, and require patience at the level that I have used them.  But this doesn't mean you need to paint 40 models at a time.  You reduce the number of models to suit your patience level. When I started this army painting project I needed to think through what

How to make Homemade Tree Scenery from basic goods | Step by Step

Hi guys, been wanting to post this up for a while for all you terrain builders! A cool and relatively easy method of building trees, sorta like the fancy schmancy ones you buy from the shops.

First of all, you need all the materials (1) Bottle brushes - I got mine for 50c each from The Warehouse (2) Putty - I've used selleys 2 part kneadatite stuff that comes in the roll, you can use whatever you want that does the job, just don't use something brittle and breaks (Click through for full tutorial)

Painting a Space Wolf Space Marine - Step by Step Tutorial

Colour Primer Wolf Grey is the perfect little starting point for your next Space Wolf Army combed with Quickshade Dark Tone and the army will looking striking in a manageable time. To illustrate this, I painted a Grey Hunter in very traditional Space Wolves colours, red, black, and gold. To add savage northern biking feet to the model, I decorated the base with a severed head from our battlefields XP. Body parts resin kit and covered the snow base in plenty of blood. Imange this model multiplied 50 times and you have yourself a Tournament Standard Army.

How to paint an old plastic Space Wolf Marine - Step by Step

eI stumbled over this very, very, old plastic Space Marine in my bits box and instantly had a flash back to the early 80's and the very first WH 40,000 boxed set. To do honor to the old model, I have painted it in a sillier "old school" fashion, using traditional bright highlights. The power amour was highlighted with 2 layers, I was testing a new Warpaints colour from our forthcoming range. But a mix of Citadel Shadow Grey + Space Wolf Grey will do the job. Final highlight in pure...

Prepping Metal Miniatures for Painting - Step by Step

How to create a Lava bases for the Madmen | Iron Giant Chaos Army Tutorial

Well, after looking at my Iron Giants chaos army for a while I realized that I needed to dedicate an entire topic to just the bases.  These lava bases have proven to be a hit all over the internet, so I thought I would share with you the techniques I used so you can do them yourself if you want.  They aren’t that hard, they just require a little patience.

Obviously to start with you need the right materials to build a base like this.  For mine, I started with cork pot-mats you use to put your steaming hot pots onto the bench top so you don’t burn the surface.

Eldar Uniform Guide Tutorial (part 1 of 5): Al-Kaithe Craftworld.

What Quickshade to chose for my Tomb Kings: Part Three (Dark Tone)

One of the most frequent questions we get is, “What colour and what Quickshade should I use for my army?” In this little tutorial series we have painted up 3 almost identical Warhammer Tomb Kind skeleton cavalry using 3 different combinations of Colour Primer Sprays and Quickshade dips.

How to Paint Nurgle Chaos Terminators - The Army Painter Technique

Having recently entered the 40K scene again, I had a test game with my favourite army: Nurgle Shaos Space Marines against an old adversary. Having found that I lacked a hardcore close combat unit I had changed my army list and tried out Nurgle Terminators with stand-in models. Oh mama, they rocked and I needed these in my life, so I quickly bought a box the day after and started assembling.

How to create a cork base for your miniatures | Tutorial

Before I start the tutorial, I’d like to say this: I am re-organizing my entire room, which includes my painting area.  This will take time, so i will be a little slack on the painting side for a while.  I decided to do this because I didn't have any sort of system that let me quickly and easily find the paints/tools/supplies I was looking for, and that meant I was wasting time looking for what i wanted, and broke myconcentration.  With a re-organization of things that should change.  To make things even more organised and to store my (soon to be) rapidly growing paint/supply collection (we're finally breaking the GW shell!), we (as in my beloved mother *thank you mum*) have purchased a lot of drawers to accommodate for what I have/ what I’m about to have.  I will post pics when it's all done.  Another reason I will be slack is that I’ve also run out of primer.  I am very specific about what I use, and I only like the GW primers (mostly the skull white) because of the fineness and colour of their spray.

Grey Knight Terminators Tutorial | Uniform Grey Colour Primer

Grey Knight Terminators Tutorial | Uniform Grey Colour Primer

These guys were a snap to throw together. Tabletop Grey Knights ready to roll…and yeah they ain’t silver :p but that makes them different.  I could have basically done exactly the same using silver spray primer to get the traditional shiny look to their armour.  I reckon using this technique and given the elite nature of the GK armies it would be easy to finish off a good looking GK army in a weekend.  So to speed GK termies…

Skaven Clan Rats Tutorial | Leather Brown Primer

Skaven Clan Rats | SlavetoPainting.co.nz

I was truly inspired by the Clan Skurvy article on Games Workshop a while ago and ever since reading it wan
ted to start my own Clan.  So I decided that I would start out keeping the units simple but themed towards Skurvy.  The first batch of the army will be TIOB minis, a Screaming Bell and a Doomwheel (because they look so cool).  After that…
